This is a living blog post that will continued to be updated as I learn more. Here is a link to the slides from my presentation at World Harvest. This is intended as tool for my friends, family, followers and myself to be able to reference at anytime with updated information on Artificial Intelligence (AI) as it continues to progress rapidly.
What is AI or Artificial Intelligence?
I actually asked the AI tool MarketingBlocks what its definition of Artificial Intelligence was and it said
“Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the development of computer systems that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. These tasks include speech recognition, decision-making, problem-solving, learning, and understanding natural language. AI systems are designed to analyze and interpret vast amounts of data, recognize patterns, and make decisions or take actions based on that analysis. They can be classified into two main types: narrow AI, which is designed for specific tasks, and general AI, which aims to possess the same level of intelligence as a human across a wide range of tasks.”
I then asked it to re-write this definition to explain to an eight year old since this is one of my children’s ages and AI rewrote the definition to say.
“Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is when computers are made to be really smart and do things that humans usually do. It’s like giving a computer a brain so it can learn, think, and make decisions. For example, AI helps computers understand and talk to us, recognize pictures, and even play games. It’s all about teaching computers to be as clever as people!”
I have created the acronym PREP to start with a framework for this post.
P – PRAY
As a Jesus follower I believe prayer is the first place we must start when approaching AI. Asking God about what we should do with it. Talking with God about how we can use it to glorify Him. Prayer opens our heart to hear from God and have Him guide us in this journey of integrating AI into our lives.
R – Research
I expect this section will be the longest as I continue to research AI and all of the way it can be used.
For right now here is a link to the top AI Tools, which is like search engine for AI tools.
Here is a link with current scams that are being used a lot.
E – Embrace
Embrace AI as it will not be going away anytime soon. More on this soon…
P – Password
There are so many AI scams and new ones are popping up everyday. Like the Mother who thought here daughter had been kidnapped an help for ransom only to find out it was a AI clone of her daughters voice.
My family has implemented a password that only we know. This could be a code word, date, numbers or a funny inside joke that only your family knows. This way if we get a call that claims to be a family member we can instantly ask for the passcode.
If you were to get a call that sounds just like a family member and you believe it to be a scam consider:
- Breath – scammers thrive on playing your emotions take a deep breath and ask yourself is this actually real?
- Hangup – hangup and then call your loved one back directly
- Report – report it to local authorities along with submitting a report to the Cybercrime Support Network (CSN) which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to meet the challenges facing individuals and small businesses affected by cybercrime.
As I mentioned this is a living blog post that will continued to be updated as I learn more. If it has been helpful to you or there are things you think should be added please add a comment or send me a message.
